Mark was born in Coventry, England in 1961. By the age of 8
he had taken up his first instrument – Clarinet. His love for
music continued, and at 12 years old he was given a drum kit by his
father. By the age of 13, Mark was already touring
locally as drummer and did his first Tour of England with the Punk Band
‘Squad’ at the age of 16. After achieving national acclaim
with their first single Mark left for college in Bristol. At 19 Mark joined the
70’s hit band ‘Mud’ and during his 3 year intensive
touring he founded his own band as sole songwriter ‘Red Hot
Red’ which went on to sign with Tony Stratton Smith’s
(Genesis) Canary Music.
